10-20cm snow.. -40c expected for January 4, 2009 - when is spring coming, I need to kayak!

I am hoping this won't spread to the South Okanagan, where I live. We are quite close only one hour drive to the central Okanagan area.

Ellison Lake August 16 2007

Today (Aug 16th/08) I kayaked on Kalamalka Lake and Ellison Lake (AKA:Duck Lake). I took a large number of photos of Kalamalka Lake and when I went to upload them to the CPU all the photos of Kalamalka Lk. were gone, leaving me with only Ellison Lake pics I had took today. I guess the battery was momentarily disconnected during the drive to Ellison so the pics were wiped out. Bummer! any way here are my pics of Ellison that were saved. Will have to do another Kalamalka trip.…

Hydraulic Lake

From Penticton; Take Carmi Rd. to 'the 201' and head for Hydraulic Lake. It’s a smallish lake, perhaps a quarter of Skaha, but is much more interesting as it sports a number of islands and is very irregularly shaped. Go and stay the night at the campground and paddle early in the morning when the sun is coming up; what a beautiful, easy to acces…

No kayakers here today November 13th 2009. Bit of snow trying to cover the town early this morning. Whitecaps and +3c this morning and quite the wind as you can see. Maybe tomorrow will be a good kayak day. Find more videos like this on KAYAK O...

Stay in-touch, Share photos chats GPS coordinates etc. From tent to tent LOL should be interesting.

GUY i suppose you know that Davrutick is part owner of Folbot. If you havn,t seen the Folbot forum click on www. folbot.com and the lead to the forum is at the bottom.

GUY, most folders don,t pack that small, (there are one or two exceptions) i will take photo,s of them packed but in most cases they can,t be packed to carry like a back pack with comfort and they weight 60 to 85lb or there abouts, again there are a few exeptions. If one is wanted and back packing is of importance then a fair amount of looking into is needed. As regards a Folbot group i don,t think it would be popular ,the Folbot forum people wouldn,t be interested and they have a sailing section called the "yacht club". As regards a sailing section here ,it sounds good but again the numbers interested would be almost none, look at the playak sections where sails are,and there is very little comment, also Klepper America have a forum dedicated to Klepper kayaks but owners of other boats are welcome, again the response is not very good i probably contribute 70% of the content.. In general very few seem to contribute, i see over a thousand people are members of playak ,but really many have few comments, there is some on white water but not much else. The forum www. folding kayaker.org covers all folders and has a well used sailing section with some very experienced members but it,s unlikely they would join another group. Of course if you wanted to start a group ,sailing would probably be the best as sails can be added to almost any boat and it dosn,t have to cost a fortune to get into it, finding interested members could be the hard part.

GUY yes i have a Folbot Yukon, had it two summers (i think) like a smaller Klepper but the frame is aluminium, in my opinion it,s not quite as easy as the klepper aerius 2 to put together but people don,t agree with me, (i have been putting the klepper,s together for over 30 years so that might make a differance). I have made a few changes, moved the seat back a bit, moved the rudder control back(had to) with the seat, made a spray cover for the same reason, made my own lee board, fitted a PA sail and changed the way the "outrigger system" fit,s to the boat, made a support to make it easier for me to assemble it on my own.Sounds a lot but it,s not really, i have just added photos of it. Now would i buy another one, YES i would but remember after 30 years i could sell my klepper for at least what i paid for it, after 30 years i couldn,t say the same for the Folbot. Folbot have a very good selection of fold-up Kayaks, the best warrenty in around, good support and also a good forum at www.folbot.com

Hi Guy, thanks for the comment on the picture...you should see how much shampoo I go through... :)

I'm planning to get something a little more appropriate, but I couldn't get off the sign up page without uploading something, and Sunny was icon-sized already.

I'll check out those groups you mentioned. I'm glad I found a kayak group that isn't all whitewater and actually does kayak-camping trips!

Robson overlooks the Columbia River just below the Keenyside dam which is the begining of the Lower Arrow Lake, That is where I do most of my kayaking. One of my favourites spots is on the Upper Arrow lake in the Beaton Arm.

Flies by? No, more like evaporates into thin air! Now tell me, just how many kayak networks are there and how many have I joined? Keep me straight here, 'cuz left to my own devices I flat line, as evidenced by this recent discovery of graffiti that was left on my comment wall here a month ago. So just who is this guy spraying graffit everywhere anyway?

Guy check out the site for old town canoes as they offer a pretty big selection of spray covers and they may have one for your boat. Cheers greg
